Preparing for Your Appointment

Intra-Oral TMJD Treatment

Intra-oral TMJD treatment may be discussed when indicated and aligned with your symptoms, assessment findings, and therapeutic goals.

Treatment involves assessment and manual therapy inside the mouth using gloves and informed verbal consent.

Initial TMJD appointments are scheduled as 90-minute assessment and treatment sessions to allow time for a more detailed health history, assessment, movement testing, treatment planning, and hands-on care.

Communication, comfort, and patient preference are prioritized throughout treatment, and approaches can be modified at any time.

TMJD treatment appointments are booked separately from pelvic health appointments to allow for focused assessment and individualized care.

Pelvic Health & Sensitive Area Consent

Some treatment approaches involving sensitive areas may be discussed when indicated and clinically appropriate.

"Sensitive areas" may include tissue in the following regions:

  • Gluteals

  • Chest wall

  • Breasts

  • Upper inner thighs

  • External pelvic floor

Pelvic health appointments are scheduled as 90-minute assessment and treatment sessions to allow time for detailed discussion, assessment, informed consent, treatment planning, and individualized care.

Written informed consent is required in accordance with professional standards.

Written consent for gluteal treatment may be completed once per treatment plan where appropriate.

Written consent for breast, chest wall, upper inner thigh, and external pelvic floor treatment is required at each appointment where treatment is performed.

Communication, draping, privacy, and patient comfort are prioritized throughout care, and consent can be modified or withdrawn at any time.

Pelvic health appointments are booked separately from TMJD appointments to support focused assessment and treatment planning.
